The Enlightened Engineer: Bridging Creativity and Technology in Education

Hello 👋 I'm Peter Frank Jacoy, and I'm thrilled to be joining the master's degree cohort at Concordia University. My academic background is in Mechanical Engineering, which I studied at Cal Poly Pomona. I spent over 35 fulfilling years in Venezuela managing a manufacturing company and discovering my passion for teaching, where I guided students and supervised internships to support their professional growth.

Due to the political situation in Venezuela, I relocated to the United States and completed my CTE credentials at the University of San Diego. Currently, I teach Accounting, Personal Finance, Computer Information Technologies, and AP Computer Science Principles at John A. Rowland High School.

In addition to my education career, I'm an accomplished oil painter specializing in hyperrealism. This artistic passion enriches my life and brings creativity and precision into my teaching.

As I embark on this master's program at Concordia University, my goals are multifaceted. I aim to integrate cutting-edge knowledge and teaching methods into my practice, with a focus on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to inclusively support all students. This approach is vital for preparing our students for future challenges and enhancing their quality of life.

Through this program, I look forward to gaining strategies and insights to elevate my instructional techniques. I'm particularly excited about exploring technologies and instructional designs that cater to diverse learning styles and needs. By refining my skills in these areas, I aim to positively impact my students' academic and personal growth, equipping them for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century.
